Arjun Bhindora P.E.
My journey began in the vibrant and resilient landscapes of South Asia, where I grew up watching my dad—an old-school builder with big dreams—turn empty plots into homes and neighborhoods. From an early age, I was drawn to the discipline and creativity of structural engineering, fascinated by how invisible forces and visible forms shape the built environment. That early exposure planted the seed: I knew I was meant to build—but with math, precision, and purpose.
Fueled by that passion, I made the leap to the United States and earned my Master’s in Structural Engineering at Arizona State University. At the same time, I developed a deep appreciation for the kind of engineering that isn’t just about calculations, but about making things last, stand tall, and work in the real world.
My first real break came at PK Associates Scottsdale, an award-winning and one of Arizona’s top structural firms, known for their high-performance designs and collaborative culture. I started out as an intern—sure, I sat in a few long meetings and figured out where the best donuts were—but more importantly, I got thrown into real projects from day one, and then worked my way into a full-time role after graduation. Over the years, I had the chance to help design everything from multifamily housing and university buildings to nine-story healthcare facilities. I helped design medical tenant improvements, high-end commercial TI spaces, and everything in between. I mastered the codebooks, learned how to coordinate with architects (and decode their sketches), and became the guy people called when the deadline was yesterday but the solution still had to be perfect.
Today, with a PE license and a firm of my own—Vir Structural—I get to do what I love every day: partner with smart people, build cool things, and make sure they stay standing no matter what. I started Vir to blend big-firm expertise with small-team responsiveness, offering engineering that’s fast, smart, and built around you—not around red tape.
